More than just BUSD: Bridges allows you to choose your dividend token
Our community has told us time and time again how much they love getting their dividends in Binance Peg USD (BUSD). The Bridges Team has been hard at work on a new feature of the Bridge$ token that will give you even more options for your dividends.
When we wrote the smart contract for Bridge$, we built in a feature that allows you to choose which token your dividends are paid in from a list of approved BEP-20 tokens.
We know that interacting with the contract on BscScan is not straightforward, so we have created a dashboard that makes it easier for you. You can access the dashboard directly on the Bridges website.
On your PC
To use the dashboard from your PC, connect your wallet either using MetaMask, or WalletConnect. Click on Connect Wallet in the upper right corner.
If you are using MetaMask browser extension (install here), choose MetaMask and approve the connection in your MetaMask browser extension. If you are not already on the Binance Smart Chain, you may be asked to change your network in order to connect.
If you are using Trust Wallet or most other wallets, select WalletConnect. In the Trust Wallet app, you’ll need to navigate to Settings and tap WalletConnect. Then, scan the QR code that the dashboard shows and allow your wallet to connect to the dashboard by following the on-screen prompts. Before approving the connection, be sure to select Binance Smart Chain.
If you are using MetaMask, open the app. Be sure to select Binance Smart Chain. Open the browser from MetaMask and navigate to https://bridges.exchange/dashboard. Click Connect Wallet and select MetaMask. If you are not on Binance Smart Chain, you will be asked to switch networks. Approve it, refresh the page, and click Connect Wallet again while selecting MetaMask.
If you are using TrustWallet or other Wallet Connect compatible wallets, navigate to https://bridges.exchange/dashboard in your phone’s browser, click on Connect Wallet, and select your wallet from the available ones. You will be redirected to your wallet app and asked to connect your wallet. Before confirming the connection, be sure to select Binance Smart Chain, then click Connect.
Once connected, you’ll see how many Bridge$ tokens you have, which token your dividends are currently paid in, and the total amount of dividends paid out to your wallet in BNB since the new dividend tracker went live on 26 December 2021.
You’re probably wondering why the dividends are tracked in BNB. That’s because the Bridge$ contract gets BNB from the taxes levied on transaction volume. Then it swaps for whichever token your dividends will be paid out in, and sends you your dividend tokens. Since BNB is the base token for paying out the dividends, that’s what the contract keeps track of and reports in the dashboard.
Now, that you know what the numbers you see mean, let’s move on to the multi-token dividend feature. The Bridges Team can approve new dividend tokens using the smart contract. To start, we have added Binance-Peg Bitcoin (BTCB) and Binance-Peg Ethereum (ETH).
To change the token that your dividends are paid out in, select a token from the drop-down list and click Update.
Once you’ve updated your dividend token, don’t forget to add that new token in your wallet to see your dividends. Here are the token contract addresses of all of the dividend options at the time that we are launching this feature:
- BTCB: 0x7130d2a12b9bcbfae4f2634d864a1ee1ce3ead9c
- ETH: 0x2170ed0880ac9a755fd29b2688956bd959f933f8
- BUSD: 0xe9e7cea3dedca5984780bafc599bd69add087d56
The next question in your mind is probably, “When will more tokens be added?” Over time, we’ll evaluate options for additional dividends and ask for the community’s opinion on this. We want to make sure that the tokens we add to the list are reputable, as safe for our investors as possible, and compatible with the Bridges mission.
